Quick stop in Osaka

Noo! ive dont it, ive started to forget what ive even done its been so long!. hopefully writing it will bring it back, although this day was pretty weak.
I had a day bus from Hiroshima to Osaka that started at like 5.30am so i could get to Osaka around mid-day. Once in Osaka i realised i really needed to just sit down and plan the rest of Japan because there wernt too many days left to fit in everything i wanted, so i went up Umeda Tower which is one of the top 20 sky scrapers in the world and just sat up there trying to plan and book the rest of my trip.

Now this is how i planned it:
  • that night in Osaka
  • get to Kyoto for two nights
  • do Nara on a day trip on the way back to Osaka, where i would stay a night
  • then back to Kyoto (this wasnt planned but was needed since i partied a little too hard one of the nights)
  • day in Kyoto until a night bus starting at around 9.30pm to 7.00am in Tokyo
  • get on a bus to Fuji-Q, which is an amusement park and onsen right under Mount Fuji
  • get back on a bus to Tokyo, then transfer by train to my hostel right next to the airport
  • jump on a 7am plane the next day to Takamatsu
  • stay one night there in a super Japanese capsule hotel
  • fly to China early the next day
Crazy right!, no break there but it needed to happen that way to get the most out of Japan. the only disappointing thing is i will be on a bus Saturday night instead of going out, but beggers cant be choosers since i didn't get a JR rail pass.

Now on that rail pass though, i have to call it out. Im glad i didnt buy one!, the 7 day one is like $350 and the 14 day is around $500. Since i just used buses/trains/subways i would say my total trasport costs would be no more than maybe $250?. All the big distances were covered by that 3 day bus passs i told you about (~$100), then the rest is local trains which do really start to add up (~$2-4) to get anywhere, then around $7 to get to and from Osaka and Kyoto a few times. So i would say i probably saved hundreds.

ANyways back to Osaka, i just got to Osaka Castle in time and took a few pictures, then went to Namba (main art of the city) for a few pics, but overal Osaka didnt grab me.

Miyajima

Yesterday i went to Miyajima Island with a cute german girl from the hostel that was in Horishima for a quick break from study in  Kyoto. Im pretty sure its the island from that relatively new Wolverine movie if anyone was wondering. When we got there (after an hour tram ride) it was high tide which was lucky as it makes everything look like its floating. after a look around the shrine and reading our fortunes we decided to climb up the mountain instead of taking the cable car which was intense but worth it! after getting to the top and taking a few photos we walked back down and went to the park to hang out with the deer and take some photos, after we tried out most of the local street food before going back to Hiroshima. Courtney and Todd this first pic is for you, hope i got close to the same location as your pic in the lounge!.

Hiroshima Castle and local garden

Just pictures now. Need to eat.

Hiroshima Memorial Park

Getting bored of typing so just updating pictures now. I still find it crazy that America actually detonated a nuclear bomb right here, what dicks.

 Before the bomb hit....
 Then after.

Freaky as, melted skin and everything!

The red ball is the explosion distance and size from Hiroshima.

 Thats glass embedded into concrete!

The wall is made with a couple hundred thousand tiles, one each for the amount of people killed by the blast.
